Why Are we Promoting Peace and Linking That Peace to Israel's Right to Build their Temple?
The primary reason is because we believe God is calling us to manifest His will in the world. It is clear in God's Word that God desires for us to live in peace with Him and our fellow man.
First, peace is necessary for us to freely worship God. "And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 21So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: 22And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee." Gen. 28:20-22 - 20
Until God gave Solomon Peace on every side he was not able to build the first temple. " 12And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together." 1 Chron. 5:12 " Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days." Secondly, God sent his Son so that we could experience an everlasting peace with him and each other "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 1For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. ...And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, Good will toward men." Luke 2:10-14
Third, becasue it is prophesied that the next temple will be built as part of a peace covenant. As believers we study the prophets and in the study of the prophets we understand that the third temple MUST be built. we also know we currentl live in a world were the building of the temple does not seem possible. So something must change the World's attitude concerning the building of the third temple. Many nations even refuse to recognize Israel as a nation, or Jerusalem as its captial. So as believers, we believe we must start sowing the seeds in the world and CONNECT a lasting peace to the building of the third temple. It is a fact that the Word of God cannot be fulfilled WITHOUT the building of the thrird temple. We read in Revelation Chpter 11, about the coming of the"two witnesses" and how John was commanded to "Measure the temple". "And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy ia thousand two hundred and threescore days, (The first 3.5 years of Daniel's 70th week) clothed in sackcloth.
We also know that when the prophesied man of perdition comes he will offer a seven year peace covenant with Israel and break that covenant in the middle of the 7oth week and commit the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet. " Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." 2 Thes 2:3-4 .(See also Dan 9:27, Matthew 24:15).
Therefore, we believe that we are simply working to prepare the way of the Lord and for His truth to be seen by many who currently dwell in spiritual darkness. We do this while looking for the prophesied coming of the Prince of Peace, Yeshua, Jesus Christ. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice From henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 9:6-7
Fourth we are simply following the example that W.E. Blackstone set forth with the "Blackstone Memorial" concerning the prophesied rebirth of the Nation of Israel.
